Sound familiar?

You want to recreate that perfect tenderloin from last winter – and you’re standing in front of your smoker, drawing a blank. The note with the exact cure times is somewhere between an old grocery list and an electricity bill. Your notes about the beechwood mix? On your phone, in some WhatsApp chat with yourself. The wholesale prices per kilo? Probably in your wallet. Or your car. Maybe.

If you’re nodding: Curination is for you.

Four tools. One app. Your craft.

Speak instead of type

Talk your curing session into your phone: “Pork tenderloin, 7-day wet cure with curing salt, then 3 smoke runs of beech/alder at 18°C.” The AI recognizes meat type, method, times, and wood varieties – and organizes everything automatically.

1,306 recipes at your fingertips

A searchable library of over 1,306 curing, smoking, and sausage recipes. With star ratings, comments, scaling to your target weight, and automatic translation.

Import recipes from any URL

That recipe gathering dust in your browser bookmarks? Paste the URL, and AI extracts ingredients, steps, and metadata automatically. Editable preview, then saved.

Real calculation for serious curers

Wholesale price per kilo, bone and trim deductions, shrinkage factor (5.5% standard), validation against actual final weight. Anyone running a commercial operation knows why this matters.

Built by someone curing meat at 30°C.

I’ve been curing meat in Cyprus 🇨🇾 for years. If that sounds cozy: it’s 30°C in summer. In the shade. That forced me to do things differently than what most curing books recommend. Refrigerator-based aging, modified cold smoking, EU regulations for selling – all topics I’ve navigated myself.

Curination is the app I built for myself, because the paper-and-bookmark chaos got the better of me. That it now helps other curers is the better part of the story.

Who is Curination for?

The hobby curer

You smoke two or three times a month and you’re tired of digging for last month’s recipe. You ditch the sticky notes and gain reproducibility.

The ambitious curer

You experiment, combine, document, learn. You want to know exactly what worked last time – and why.

The commercial curer

You sell, or you’re about to. You need cost calculation, reproducibility, documentation for regulators.

Frequently asked questions

How does voice input work?

Tap the microphone icon, speak naturally, and the AI automatically recognizes meat type, method, salt amount, wood, and temperatures. You get a preview and confirm. Works in English and German.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, anytime, with no notice period. Monthly plans run until the end of the paid month. Annual plans run until the end of the paid year — there are no prorated refunds.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your recipes and projects remain saved, even after your subscription expires. You can export them anytime. Your account stays in Free mode – you keep read access to the library.

Is Curination GDPR-compliant?

Yes, fully. Hosting in the EU, AI requests via Anthropic and OpenAI under data processing agreements.

Can I upgrade from Hobby to Pro?

Anytime. When upgrading, the price difference is prorated. When downgrading, the new plan takes effect at the next billing cycle.

What’s the difference between Pro and Business?

Business adds full cost calculation with shrinkage factor, wholesale pricing, and accounting export. If you only cure for yourself, you don’t need Business. If you sell (or plan to), you do.

Is there a free version?

Yes. In Free mode, you can browse the public recipe library and glossary. Personal recipes, projects, and voice features are reserved for paid plans.

Do I need an internet connection?

Yes, for AI features (voice input, translation, recipe import). You can view existing recipes and projects offline.

Can I share my own recipes?

Yes. Mark your recipes as public – after a brief admin review, they appear in the library with your name.

Who owns my recipes?

You do. Your recipes and project data belong to you. We only use them to provide the app. No sharing, no AI training, no selling.
